The University of Bologna is very glad to host in presence the International Conference "International Service-Learning and Intercultural Competence: a discussion around the UNICORN and TICKET projects" on June 23, 2022.
The Conference is a joint multiplier event of two Erasmus+ KA2 Strategic Partnerships projects which share a focus on developing skills and competencies through the
internationalisation of higher education. These projects are TICKET (Transnational Intercultural Competence through Knowledge Exchange and Training) and UNICORN (University-Community-Learning).
The Conference will see the participation of distinguished keynote speakers. Prof. Michael Byram, Professor Emeritus of Durham University (UK), who will give a lecture on the topic of Intercultural Competence; and Prof. Seth Pollack, California State University, Monterey Bay (USA), who will discuss the concept and purpose of the Service-Learning approach.
The conference will begin with a welcome address by the Vice Rector for International Relations, Prof. Raffaella Campaner.
The event will then be split into a morning and an afternoon session, both proceeding as follows:
1. Keynote speech: theoretical approach and inspiration
2. Presentation of the project: tools and resources to apply the theory
3. Practical introduction to project results
Participation is free of charge, but registration is compulsory.
