New challenges and cross-cutting issues in agricultural and rural planning

Goals
The conference aims at outlining new challenges in agricultural and rural land management and planning, in relation to the most topical and relevant experiences and visions in the following fields: sustainable intensification of food production, multi-functionality, resource efficiency, urban sprawl, enhancement of environmental resources, innovative systems, structures and technologies for sustainable agriculture and forestry, and training agri-environmental experts of the future. The conference focuses also on cross-cutting and interdisciplinary issues such as bridging the gap between urban and rural planning and between rural planning and rural development, smart bioprocesses and rural land management, the food-landscape nexus, rural-metropolitan interface planning, rural cultural heritage and innovative processes for rural regeneration, energy and landscape.
