A day in the life of a medical resident
<<Another very interesting experience was the visit to the local teaching hospital and its associated free clinic, which allowed us to gain more insight into the American healthcare system and the dramatic disparities within it. The latter has been the object of an intense and very powerful discussion that all of us will remember, and that we will surely take into consideration when it will be time to choose where to enroll for our residency. We were also struck by the abnegation and goodwill of all of the people involved in the free clinic: despite seemingly insurmountable adversities and the constant struggle to find funding for their project, everyone goes above and beyond to provide the best possible care for the lesser among us, working to fulfill one of the highest prerogatives of Hippocrates’ Oath.>>
