The Department of Statistical Sciences of the University of Bologna, together with Université Grenoble Alpes, the Burgundy Business School, and LARHRA, and with the support of the Cassini Senior 2023 grant of the Institut Français, is organising a multidisciplinary conference, bridging economics, art history, and sociology, on the impacts of the update of the ICOM's definition of museum, titled
"From Linguistic Innovation to Cultural Transformation: Unpacking the Implications of ICOM's New Museum Definition in Italy and France"
The new museum definition, introduced in August 2022, contains several new key terms that may influence the operations of museums.
The conference will specifically focus on the keywords 'sustainability,' 'diversity,' and 'ethically,' with particular attention to their effects on art museums.
The conference will be held in Bologna, on March 18-19 2024.
