By plane

Bologna Airport (Guglielmo Marconi - BLQ) is the city airport. Buses and trains from the Railway Station to the airport (and back) are available on a frequent schedule.

Marconi Express: a quick (7 min.) and frequent (~every 10 min. from 05:40 till 24:00) monorail train. Automatic vending machines (and credit card contactless access) are available at the departure stations. The price is 11€ for a one way ticket and 20€ for two-way ticket.

For the passengers departing with the first flights in the morning or landing with the last flights at night there is a night bus (line 940) operating between the airport and the Railway Station. Transfer takes 20-25 min. 

You can get a taxi from the airport on the ground floor, just outside the door of the landing area. The cost of a taxi from the airport to a central location in Bologna is about 20€. It takes 15 minutes to reach Bologna Centrale.

By train

Bologna can be also reached by train (via high speed trains Trenitalia or Italo from, e.g., Milan and Rome). You can also reach Bologna with night trains from Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris and Vienna. The main Railway Station is called "Bologna Centrale".

How to reach the conference venue (Navile district - Bologna)

The meeting will take place in the Ue 4 building (aula N "Toso Montanari") in the modern Science campus of the University of Bologna, in the Navile district (northern outskirt of the Bologna, address Via Gobetti 85, 40129, Bologna, Italia). Several buses operate between the city center and the Navile district with frequency of 10-20 min (due to heavy traffic busses are not always perfectly on time). The most convenient way is to reach the main Railway Station and take a direct bus from there. Tickets can be bought at any newspaper kiosk or on the bus either by cash (prepare 2€ in coins for a single ride) or by card (1.50€, service not available on all buses). There are no daily tickets but one can buy a carnet of 10 rides (price 14€).

By bus from the city center

BUS #11B: from "San Pietro" to stop "Marco Polo" (20 min. ride + 10 min. walk)

By car

Those who want to use a car can find a parking lot in Via della Beverara, 123, 40131 Bologna BO.
