Giovanni Cardillo

Giovanni is assistant professor in Economics of Financial Intermediation at the University of Bologna. His interests of research are related to several areas of banking and finance: the impact of government monitoring on banks, the impact of IFRS on European capital markets, implications of financial networks for systemic risk, the impact of monetary policies, the evaluation of the effects of corporate governance mechanisms on bank performance and policies, and sustainable finance. He has published in leading international finance and management journals, such as Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Financial Stability, and Business Strategy and the Environment. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Bologna. In the past, he also served as Research fellow at Aston University (England) and at the University of Nottingham (England), and Teaching Associate at the University of Amsterdam (Netherlands). He was one of the founders of the South Guys ltd., supported by the European Commission, and a scientific consultant for ABIFormazione.

Helen Chiappini

Helen Chiappini, Ph.D., is a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Banking and Finance at the Department of Management and Business Administration, G. d’Annunzio University. She is also the Editor of the Subseries “Palgrave Studies in Green Finance” (Palgrave Macmillan) and a member of the Scientific Committee of Social Impact Agenda per l’Italia. Her research interests are related to sustainable and impact finance, non-performing loans, and corporate governance. Previously, she served as a consultant and researcher for several national and international organizations.
Simona Cosma

Associate professor confirmed since 2011 with national qualification as full professor since 2018, he works at the management department (DISA), University of Bologna, where he teaches economics of insurance companies and financial instruments and markets. Her research interests focus on the risk management of financial institutions, corporate governance and sustainability. Until November 2022 he taught Risk Management and Economics of Financial Intermediaries. He worked for many years as an Affiliated Professor at the SDA Bocconi School of Management (Banking and Insurance Department), Milan, Italy. She is the author and co-author of many books and articles in international academic journals. He currently holds the role of Independent Director at Banca Popolare Pugliese and the listed company Monrif, where he is also a member of the risk and remuneration committee. It has always been very active on the third mission through participation in activities and conferences of trade associations and supervisory authorities
Andi Duqi

Andi Duqi is an Associate Professor in Banking and Finance at the University of Bologna. From 2013 to 2018 he was appointed as Assistant Professor of Banking and Finance at the University of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. His research focuses mainly on banking performance, banking efficiency, dividend policy, banking competition, microfinance and social impact finance. Andi Duqi obtained a Ph.D in Financial Markets and Intermediaries from the University of Bologna in 2012 and he was a post-doc researcher at the same University in 2012-2013. He has been a visiting research fellow at the Bangor Business School and Nottingham Business School, United Kingdom.

Murad Harasheh

Murad Harasheh is an assistant professor of Finance at the University of Bologna-Italy. His primary research interests are related to corporate finance, firm valuation, energy and commodity finance, and sustainability economics. He is the author of the book Global Commodities: Physical, Financial, and Sustainability Aspects, and of various publications in international journals in finance, business valuation, and energy.

Graduated in Economics from the University of Modena (1984), he continued his studies in Finance at the New York University (1986-87) and obtained a PhD in Capital Market and Financial Management (Bergamo University Institute, 1988). In 1986 he was awarded the "Giorgio Mortara" - Bank of Italy Scholarship for further studies abroad. Researcher of Economics of Financial Intermediaries, University of Bologna (1990-98); assistant professor of Economics of Financial Intermediaries at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Bologna (1993-98); associate professor of Economics of Financial Intermediaries at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Bologna (from 1998 to 2000); full professor of Economics of Financial Intermediaries at the University of Bologna (from 2000-98).
Salvatore Perdichizzi

Salvatore Perdichizzi is an assistant professor in Economics of Financial Intermediation at the University of Bologna. His research interests cover monetary policy and empirical banking, with a focus on the effectiveness of unconventional and conventional monetary policies on economic development, financial markets and banking stability, green and sustainable finance, bank lending conditions, bank risk-shifting through dividend and share-repurchase, bank performance, credit and sovereign debt dynamics. He has published in leading international journals, such as Industrial and Corporate Change, Journal of International Financial Management & Accounting, and Manchester School.
He holds a PhD in Economics (DEFAP) from the University of Milan - Bicocca and Catholic University of Sacred Heart - Milan. He is Research Associate at the Yunus Social Business Centre of Bologna. He also served as a Research fellow at the University of Exeter Business School (England) and Catholic University of Sacred Heart - Milan. He was a consultant for Prometeia.
Giuseppe Torluccio

Giuseppe Torluccio is Professor of Banking and Finance at the University of Bologna. PhD University Cattolica of Milan, MBA Olin Business School USA. Giuseppe is involved into advisoring and has authored publications in financial intermediation, management of credit risk, business financing, ESG and social finance (JFI, JCF, OS). He earned an MBA at the Olin Business School – Washington University in St. Louis. Visiting scholar at Washington University in St. Louis, College of Business at Arizona State University, Bangor University UK. He is advisor of PhD students at Management program at University of Bologna (Banking Track ) . He is involved in many social studies and related activites, as Director of Yunus Social Business Centre – University of Bologna, and as a Vice president of Yunus Italia Foundation.
