The Farid Chemat Award
The Farid Chemat Award is granted in memory of Prof. Farid Chemat (Université d’Avignon, France).
The Award recognizes the best oral contribution made by a young researcher (< 35 years old) in the field of green extraction of botanicals.
The Award consists of CHF 500 offered by the journal Processes, MDPI, and the opportunity to publish one paper free of charge in Processes.
Prof. Dr. Farid Chemat's contributions
Prof. Dr. Chemat was a full chemistry professor and laboratory director for green extraction techniques of natural products (GREEN) at the Université d’Avignon et des Pays de Vaucluse, France. His research focused on innovative and sustainable extraction techniques (i.e., microwave, ultrasound, and bio-based solvents) for different fields such as food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic applications. He was the man behind the ‘eco-extraction’ mission of botanicals. His research activity was marked by more than 200 scientific peer-reviewed papers, books, and patents.
The Farid Chemat Award procedure
The Scientific International Advisory Board of GENP2026 will select the best oral contribution held by a young researcher (< 35 years old) in the field of green extraction of botanicals during the various sessions of the Conference. The winner will be announced during the closing ceremony on October 30, 2026.
The Grant
The thematic group "Green Chemistry - Chimica Sostenibile" of the Italian Chemical Society is offering a fellowship grant to support one early career researcher in attending GENP2026. One (1) grant of €100 will be awarded to help cover the participation fees of a young member (< 35 years old) who is regularly registered with the thematic group "Green Chemistry - Chimica Sostenibile" of the Italian Chemical Society for 2026 and who will present an oral communication.
The Grant procedure
Applications must be sent no later than June 1, 2026, by filling out the form and attaching the following files:
- Curriculum vitae
- Support letter
- Abstract for the oral communication
The name of the winner will be announced by June 15, 2026.
The candidates are kindly requested not to pay the participation fees until the results of the Call for Applications are announced.
