Special Issue – ASME JERTA
Invitation for Selected Contributions
The International ICE Forward Symposium (ICEFS 2026) will provide with the opportunity to publish the selected papers in a dedicated Special Issue of the ASME Journal of Energy Resources Technology – Part A - Sustainable and Renewable Energy (JERTA).
Scope of the Special Issue
The Special Issue will focus on innovation and emerging development trends in internal combustion engines and ICE-based powertrains, with particular emphasis on technologies enabling improved efficiency and reduced environmental impact.
Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):
- Advanced combustion concepts and high-efficiency engine architectures
- Alternative and low-carbon fuels (e-fuels, biofuels, hydrogen, ammonia, etc.)
- Emissions reduction technologies and aftertreatment systems
- Hybrid powertrains and electrification-enabling solutions for ICE
- Advanced control strategies, diagnostics, and AI/ML applications
- Modeling, simulation, and digital tools for design and optimization
- Experimental methods and advanced measurement techniques
- Durability, reliability, and lifecycle/sustainability assessment
Following the symposium, the selected contributions will be invited to be extended to a full-length journal paper to the Special Issue of JERTA.
Additional information (guest editors, timeline, and submission instructions) will be announced on this page as soon as available.
