Guidelines for talks & posters

Here we provide some instructions for the talks & posters during the ALMABO24 conference.

Please, check carefully your time slot in the program, be sure to stay on your assigned time, and leave some time for questions.

We have created a Zenodo community (ALMABO24) to collect all presentations & posters from the conference. You are welcome to upload your file (uploads will need approval by the LOC before becoming public). We remind you that Zenodo provides a DOI code to all uploads.

Review/invited/contributed talks

There are two options to show your presentation:

  1. (preferred option) send your slides to almabo2024@gmail.com. Only .pdf format will be accepted. Please, remember to name the file starting with your surname (SURNAME_everyhing-you-want.pdf), to facilitate the LOC. We recommend sending the slides well in advance of your timeslot, and no later than the last coffee break/lunch preceding it;
  2. use your own laptop and show your slides through Zoom. You will have to connect to a link that will be provided to all speakers before the beginning of the conference and share your screen. Be sure to have a working internet connection: credentials to access the University wifi will be distributed at the registration desk. Also, if you choose this option please inform the LOC beforehand, otherwise you are going to receive lots of reminders to send your slides. Please notice that physical connections to the projector will not be possible: if you want to use your laptop, you must do it through Zoom.

All speakers are kindly required to check with the LOC, during the last coffee break/lunch preceding their talk, that their presentation shows in the correct way and/or that the screen sharing works well.

Posters

Poster hanging panels will be placed in the cloister where lunches and coffee breaks will be served. You can hang your poster yourself upon arrival. Maximum allowed size is A1, vertical orientation.
Please be aware that it will not be possible to print posters on site. However, not far from the venue you can find Via Zamboni and Via delle Belle Arti, where many copy shops are located.

Poster presenters will also have the opportunity to give a flash (2' long) talk, either on Wednesday or Thursday (check your timeslot in the program). Slides for the flash talks must be sent to almabo2024@gmail.com in .pdf format before the official beginning of the conference (Monday, September 9th). We will paste all of the contributions in a single file, so please consider avoiding animations. For flash talks the use of personal laptops will not be possible.
