VENUES OF THE STW: 

The venues of the STW are both in Bologna city centre:

University of Bologna, Rectorate, Via Zamboni 33, Bologna

University of Bologna, Belmeloro Building, Via Beniamino Andreatta 8, Bologna 

 

HOW TO GET HERE:

Marconi Express Shuttle: This shuttle offers a direct high-speed train connection between the Marconi Airport and Bologna Central railway station within 15 minutes. The service operates from 5:40 AM to midnight, with up to 8 departures per hour in each direction at rush hour. The single fare is 12,80 €, the return fare is 23.30 €.

At the Marconi Airport, the Marconi Express can be reached by going up to the departures level, which is connected to the Marconi Express station by a covered walkway.

At Bologna Central railway station, the Marconi Express is located inside the atrium on Via de’ Carracci, which can be reached from the Piazza Medaglie d’Oro entrance through the pedestrian underpasses.

Taxis: Taxis are available at the Airport. The main taxi companies in Bologna are COTABO: +39 051372727 and Taxi Cat Bologna: +39 0514590.

All taxis in Bologna use a taximeter based on distance and are required to display a list of prices inside the vehicle. The only exception to this rule is for taxis at Bologna airport, which charge a fixed-rate fee for travel to the city centre.

GETTING AROUND BOLOGNA:

Most of the University's facilities are in the city centre of Bologna. If you stay in the historic centre, or nearby, most locations are within walking distance. Alternatively, you can use buses or rent a bicycle.

BUS: Moovit is the app for navigating public transportation in Bologna.

You can purchase bus tickets at any newsstand or tabacchi shop.

Only single tickets can be purchased on the bus. Here's a breakdown of the bus fares:

Single tickets: 1,50€ (on the bus: 2€);

City pass (10 tickets): 14€

24-hour ticket: 6€

 The city of Bologna offers a wide choice of accommodation, including hotels, bed and breakfasts and apartments. We recommend selecting accommodation in the city centre (within the city walls).

At the University of Bologna campuses internet coverage is provided via the WIFI network “eduroam”. If eduroam is installed on your device, you can log into eduroam by using your university ID. If you don’t have one, we will provide you with a temporary username and password.
