In Italy, Cleary Gottlieb has offices in Piazza di Spagna in Rome and by the cathedral in Milan, with around one hundred lawyers, and provides clients with integrated legal services on Italian, European, and global matters.
Our lawyers assist with corporate and financial transactions, commercial litigation, competition law, regulated sectors, and tax law.
Cleary Gottlieb’s offices in Italy are not divided into departments. Many of our lawyers work across multiple practice areas and are also qualified in foreign jurisdictions (e.g., in the United States and the United Kingdom).

The firm recruits qualified lawyers and trainees throughout the year. For candidates not yet admitted to the bar, the firm offers traineeship opportunities of between six months and two years. The firm also offers curricular internship opportunities to candidates who have not yet graduated.
Strong academic credentials are essential requirements together with an excellent command of the English language.
Potential candidates should submit a CV in Italian and/or English including all grades, and university transcripts.
