The “Gian Piero Spada Award” is rewarded annually during the conference day “NextGenCHEM - New Frontiers in Chemistry: Research by PhD Candidates” for Doctoral Candidates and PhD Students in Chemistry. The event consists of three sessions: a morning session and an afternoon session of oral presentations, accompanied by a poster session.

This conference day provides the opportunity for doctoral candidates enrolled in the PhD programs of the Department of Chemistry "Giacomo Ciamician" --as well as all doctoral students in Chemistry and Nanosciences-- to present their research.
Participation is free of charge; however, registration is mandatory. To actively participate in the congress, submission of an abstract is required.
At the end of the conference day, the following awards will be presented::
  • Two “Gian Piero Spada Medal for the Best PhD Project” awards, reserved for final-year PhD students (38th cycle) who have delivered an oral presentation.
  • One “Gian Piero Spada Award for the Best Oral Presentation”, open to all PhD students who have given an oral presentation.
