Founded in 1996, the Bachelier Finance Society is an organisation in Mathematical Finance that fosters the exchange of ideas and collaboration between academics and industry practitioners. It is named in honour of Louis Bachelier (1870-1946), who pioneered the study of Finance with Brownian motion.

The Bachelier Finance Society promotes theapplication of quantitative methods based on mathematical, computational, and statistical tools. Its activities include:
■ promote collaboration between industry and academia
■ foster excellence in the quantitative finance profession
■ advance research in mathematical finance
■ support relevant publications

The Bachelier World Congress is the main event of the Bachelier Finance Society. Started in 2000, it takes place every two years, most recently inRio de Janeiro (2024), Hong Kong (2022), Dublin(2018) and NewYork(2016). The 2026 meeting will take place in Bologna.
