Marco Bortolini

Graduated cum laude in Management Engineering in 2008 (Master degree) at Alma Mater Studiorum - Università di Bologna and in Industrial Engineering in 2013 (Ph.D. degree) at Università degli Studi di Padova, Marco Bortolini is Associate Professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering (DIN) of Bologna University, Italy.
His current scientific, teaching, research and technological transfer activities focus on the study and implementation of innovative tools for the design, management, optimization and simulation of production systems, logistic activities and facility service plants from a multi-objective perspective.

Francesco Gabriele Galizia

Francesco Gabriele Galizia

Graduated in Management Engineering in 2015 at the University of Bologna and achieved the Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering in 2020 at the University of Padova, he is currently a post-doctoral Researcher at the Department of Industrial Engineering, University of Bologna. His research interests deal with the development of models and methods for the design and management of advanced manufacturing and assembly systems in the Industry 4.0 era, as well as for the implementation of lean practices and principles in manufacturing and logistics systems.

Emilio Ferrari

Emilio Ferrari

Born in Bologna in 1962, he degrees in Mechanical engineering at the University of Bologna 1998. After a brief experience in the industrial sector of packaging, in 1990 he becomes Researcher in the scientific area of Industrial Plants at the University of Bologna. Since 1998 till 2000 he works at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia as Assistant Professor in Industrial Plants and Industrial Logistics. Since november 2000 he is Full Professor in Industrial Logistics at the Department of Mechanical Constructions (DIEM) of the University of Bologna.

Director of DIEM during 2007-2009. Vicechancellor of Alma Mater Studiorum during 2009-2015. Past President of CINECA, a non profit Consortium for computing , made up of  53 Italian universities, the National Institute of Oceanography and Experimental Geophysics - OGS, the CNR (National Research Council), and the Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR).
Since 2004 to 2007 Dean of the course degree in Management Engineering. Director of the Master degree in "Integrated logistics" at the Faculty of Engineering in Bologna. Director of the Summer School "F. Turco" on Industrial plants X e XI ed. 2005-06. Wide teaching experience about industrial plants, logistics and service plants at public or private corporations (PROFINGEST, COFIMP API Bologna and Modena, NEXT Padova, EFESO Bologna).

Alberto Regattieri

Alberto Regattieri

Graduated in Mechanical Engineering and Ph.D. in "Operations of Production Systems", he is currently Full Professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering, University of Bologna. His research interests and expertises cover the design, management, control and optimization of complex production systems, automation of production systems and Industry 4.0, maintenance engineering. He is responsible of several classes at the Univrsity of Bologna, focused on Operations, Industrial Logistics and Maintenance of Production Systems.

Ludovica Diletta Naldi

Ludovica Diletta Naldi is a Ph.D. student at the Doctoral School in Automotive Engineering for Intelligent Mobility (AIM) of Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna. Her research interests focus on the development of methodologies and models for an effective application of the Industry 4.0 principles in the automotive sector, evaluating product and process design techniques for a profitable implementation of Mass Customization paradigm.

Michele Ronchi

Michele Ronchi is a Ph.D. student at the Doctoral School in Automotive Engineering for Intelligent Mobility of Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna. His scientific research focuses on process and quality control in advanced assembly systems. In particular, he studies and implements innovative solutions and methodologies, based on I4.0 technologies, for automatic online inspections of manufacturing and assembly activities, aiming at Zero Defect Manufacturing objectives.

Valentina Ventura

Valentina Ventura is a PhD student at the Doctoral School in Mechanics and Advanced Engineering Sciences (DIMSAI) of Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna. Her research focuses on the relationship between sustainability and digitalization from an industrial logistic perspective, aiming at establishing new methodologies for integrating Industry 4.0 technologies and circular supply chain networks.

Cristian Cafarella

Cristian Cafarella is a PhD student at the Doctoral School in Mechanics and Advanced Engineering Sciences (DIMSAI) of Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna. Currently, his research focuses on the design and control of renewable energy plants, on the efficient use of energy in production and logistics processes, and on sustainable development issues. In particular he explores new models and methods to maximize the use of renewables in a multi-objective perspective.
