The Ducati case, at the centre of this keynote speech, helps to understand how a company in the automotive sector manages and reorganizes its internal production by leveraging the pillars of lean production, aiming at being a ‘light’ organization capable of quickly adapting to its boundary conditions that, never before as in the recent years, have been so challenging. For years, Ducati company made lean the cornerstone of the so-called Ducati Production System by putting the customer at the centre but, also, the operators who highly contribute to the creation of value in Borgo Panigale. This is the Ducati formula that has been generating for more than ten years, growing volumes with increasing quality and encouraging economic results for the future.
