Sara Fiorentino

PhD in Applied Physics, her areas of interest in research are the investigation of conservative issues, production processes, and compositional features of cultural assets, with a focus on built heritage and archaeological finds.
Since 2019, she has collaborated on projects co-funded by AICS - Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (ROCHEMP - Regional Office for Cultural Heritage Enhancement, Management and Protection) and Erasmus Plus (REACH - Improving REsearch capacities of Albanian higher educations in conservation and restoration of Cultural Heritage), focused on capacity building and knowledge transfer for applied research in cultural heritage. This has led to a growing interest in the development of research methodologies and approaches that are cross-sectoral, replicable, translational, and adaptable to global contexts.
She has been working as Junior Assistant Professor (fixed-term) at the Department of Cultural Heritage - University of Bologna since February 2023. There, she carries out research on project SIRIUS – Management Strategies for Cultural Heritage at Risk, which is now a part of National Recovery and Resilience Plan within CHANGES "Cultural Heritage Active Innovation for the Next-Gen Sustainable Society”.
