Archiginnasio Tour

Guided tour of the Archiginnasio, one of the most historically significant buildings in Bologna and a symbol of its academic heritage. Once the main building of the University of Bologna—the oldest university in the Western world—the Archiginnasio houses a stunning array of frescoed halls, coats of arms, and inscriptions celebrating centuries of scholars.

During the visit, you'll explore the magnificent Anatomical Theatre, an 18th-century masterpiece entirely made of carved wood, where anatomy lessons once took place. You'll also walk through the Stabat Mater Hall, formerly the university’s main lecture room, and now home to the vast Archiginnasio Library.
