For presenters and participants

What equipment will be available for presentations?

Each presentation room will be equipped with a PC and a beamer. Please bring your presentation materials on a USB drive as it is not possible to connect your own laptop. Technical support will be available to assist with setup if needed.

Is it possible to give a remote presentation?

No, remote presentations will not be possible at the conference. All presenters are required to be physically present at their designated presentation room during their scheduled session.

How much time will I have for my presentation?

As a presenter, you will have roughly between 15 and 20 minutes for your presentation. The panel convenors will be in touch with you to inform you about the details regarding the session schedule and your presentation time.

How should I share my presentation with the convenors beforehand?

The convenors will provide instructions on how to share your presentation with them before the conference. This ensures that your presentation is properly prepared and ready for seamless integration into the session. If they have not done so, please contact them directly.

Can I keep my personal belongings in the room?

As the conference venue is a public space, the Conference Organizers and the University of Bologna are not liable for lost, stolen or damaged belongings. Please don't leave your personal belongings unattended, as the panel rooms will not be locked. Please make sure to have your badge visible when in the conference premises.

How can I access the conference program?

The conference program can be accessed on the conference agenda on the conference platform. It provides detailed information about the schedule, sessions, keynote speeches, and special events.

Will the conference program be available in a mobile-friendly format?

Yes, we have a mobile-friendly version of the conference program that can be accessed on smartphones and tablets. Simply visit the conference agenda on the conference platform using your mobile device to view the mobile-friendly version.

Is there a PDF version of the conference program available?

Yes, a PDF version of the conference program is available for download on the program page of the conference website. It includes the complete schedule, session abstracts, and speaker profiles for offline access.

Social dinner

Do I need a ticket to attend the social dinner?

Yes, a dinner ticket is required for entry to the social dinner. Please make sure to bring your dinner ticket from your registration envelope.

Can I still purchase tickets for the social dinner?

While the online ticket sales have closed, a very limited number of extra tickets will be available for purchase on the first day of the conference. These extra tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis at the registration desk. Please note that availability will be limited,

Where is the social dinner venue located?

The social dinner will be held at Cantina Bentivoglio, located at via Mascarella, 4/b, 40126 Bologna BO. Please refer to the conference program or contact our support team for further details and directions.

What time does the social dinner start?

The social dinner will start at 20:00 (8:00 PM). Please ensure you arrive on time to fully enjoy the dinner experience.

Where can I find the registration area?

The registration area will be clearly marked and located in via Azzo Gardino 23 — Bologna (Dept. of Philosophy and Communication Studies). Look for signage or conference staff who will guide you to the registration desk.

If I need a certificate of attendance, how can I obtain one?

If you require a certificate of attendance for the STS Italia Conference 2023, please make sure to ask for it at the registration desk when you check-in. Our staff will be happy to provide you with the necessary documentation. Please note that certificates of attendance are available upon request and should be obtained during the check-in process.

What are the available options for Wi-Fi access?

You can use your Eduroam credentials to connect to the Wi-Fi network. Simply select the Eduroam network and log in using your Eduroam username and password. If you do not have Eduroam credentials, we can issue individual credentials for the conference network upon presentation of your ID. Please visit the registration desk to obtain the credentials if needed.

Will water be available at the conference venue?

Yes, water will be available at the conference venue. You should bring their own water bottles to use the water refill stations conveniently located throughout the venue. Help us reduce waste and stay hydrated during the conference.

Will refreshments be provided during the conference?

Yes, light refreshments such as coffee, tea, water, and snacks will be available throughout the conference day. Please refer to the conference program for specific times and locations.

Can I leave my luggage at the conference?

The conference will not have a dedicated luggage storage. Therefore, if possible, please first ask if you can leave your luggage at your hotel. Please remember to not leave your personal belongings unattended at the conference venue, as the panel rooms will not be locked.
